Sometimes
when you are initially in a loving relationship it’s hard to tell when things
start to sour if you are being abused.
Know the signs:
- being
afraid of your partner
- confused
if you are being abused because you fight back
- feel
afraid to get help because you think no one will understand
- your
partner gets angry when you receive attention from others
- your partner makes fun
in a mean way or thinks your family and friends are not good for you and start to isolate you
- your
partner calls you, texts or IMs you nonstop
- says it is
your fault when he/she says hurtful things
- hits,
slaps, punches, or kicks you…even once
If your
partner does any of the above, get help from a specialist and call Battered Women's Hotline (408) 279-2962.
